Slitting Lines

Slitting lines obtain narrow coils from a parent coil. The main characteristic of these lines is high productivity. For this purpose, it is essential that the lines be functional and operational to minimise changeover times from coil to coil, as well as, the times of changeover of the auxiliary operations.

As a world specialist in the design and manufacture of Slitting Lines, characterised by high demands in terms of productivity and reliability. In this sense, the reduction of changing times between coils is one of the key parameters to achieve OEE values unreachable with methods used in current lines.

Difficulties in finding skilled labor and the need to be increasingly competitive in the coil slitting line market are driving the growing level of automation in the sector. To provide a solution to this need we developed a robotic storage for the automatic configuration of slitting tooling for slitting lines, called Slitter Tooling Robot (FASTR).

Electrical steel, widely used in applications ranging from electric motors to power and distribution transformers, requires processing that maintains its essential magnetic properties and minimises energy losses during manufacturing.
