The SMB Separator by MTB is an advanced system for removing ferrous materials from fine granular streams. It consists of an endless belt conveyor with a magnetic pulley at the head, operating at high speeds to process large quantities of material in a single layer. This setup enables triple separation: heavy inert particles are projected forward, ferrous particles are recovered at the rear, and light or sticky particles are collected at the front. The SMB is particularly effective for materials like clinker fines, Automobile Shredding Residue (ASR), and electronic scrap fines, enhancing the efficiency of subsequent non-ferrous metal recovery processes.
