TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The most relevant machines that are integrated into a Multiformat Cutting Line are:
Levellers
The levellers commonly used on these lines come in 3 heights, and can process materials with a maximum thickness of up to 4-5 mm. As with the cross-cutting lines, these levellers are equipped with functions such as automatic cassette changing (< 5 min), LSA (Leveller Setting Assistance), a roller cleaning system, levelling roller materials and finishes, and other features.
Shears
Depending on the speed of the line, the material to be processed and its thickness, the shears used in this type of line are:
- Rotary shears: These are intended for high-production lines (up to 200 cycles/minute) in which the shear cuts the material by means of the synchronised rotation of the upper and lower head. They are lines that work by pulling, and feeding is controlled by a pre-feeding roller and measuring wheel. Because the lines work by pulling, they do not need a pit and therefore are simple installations. The shears are equipped with a blade change feature and automatic clearance adjustment.
- Transversal shears: These cut from top to bottom and therefore have the highest accuracy in terms of cutting linearity. In addition, because the material is stationary at the time of cutting, these shears achieve minimum burr values. On the other hand, the productivity of these shears is lower than that of the presses, since they are lines that work in a pit and the feeding is done cyclically. The shears are equipped with an automatic die change feature (to make curved cuts, omega cuts, etc.) and automatic clearance adjustment.
Stackers
Electromagnetic stackers are used in this type of line. Because several formats can be produced per cut, the stacker must have alternative solutions to conventional stops that guarantee the correct stacking of the formats.
The basic characteristics of a multi-format cutting line are as follows:
BASIC FEATURES |
Maximum belt width | mm | 2,200 |
Thicknesses | mm | 0.3 – 8 |
Simultaneous formats | | 1 – 6 |
Maximum speed | m/min | 100 |
Max. speed | cuts/min | 6 x 180 |
Maximum format length | min | 7,000 |
Maximum coil weight | Tons | 40 |
Due to the wide variety of materials and sectors for which these lines are intended, they must be completed with a series of complementary solutions. The most notable of these include:
- Automatic loading, feeding and threading.
- Edge trimming and further processing by edge trimmer and chopper.
- Paper and/or film application systems for delicate materials (stainless steel and/or aluminium).
- Automatic pallet loading.
- Integrated control up to level 2 and 3.
- Digital platform for machine diagnosis as well as preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Integral monitoring and multimedia display.
All lines meet the most demanding EC, OSHA, etc. standards.
