Aluminium Hot-warm Forming – Fagor

Aluminium Hot-warm Forming is a process developed to enhance the formability of aluminium alloys, particularly the 6000 and 7000 series, by heating them to elevated temperatures before forming. This technique allows for the production of complex, high-strength components with improved mechanical properties, making it especially beneficial in industries such as automotive manufacturing.

Description

Aluminium Hot-warm Forming – Fagor

Since 2015, we have been collaborating with Innovation and Development Centres, as well as our customers, to develop suitable facilities for hot aluminium processing.

Currently, several qualities of the 6000 and 7000 series have demonstrated possibilities for industrialisation, with genuine parts having been produced in various material qualities and the most appropriate work processes identified for each case:

  • Hot stamping
  • W-Temper
  • Warm forming

At present, we continue to participate in international development projects and in the HFQ consortium for the development of products based on hot forming of aluminium.
